🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Ministry of Reconciliation Pt 2

Scripture: Ephesians 2:14–16

“For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:”

Devotion: Have you ever seen two people who were once close fall out so badly that they won’t speak, won’t be in the same room, and want nothing to do with each other?

Then someone steps in, not just to talk, but to truly fix it. They don’t just pass messages back and forth… they address the root of the issue, remove the tension, and bring both sides back together in peace.

That’s what Jesus did.

Yesterday, we talked about reconciliation, how Jesus stepped in to restore our relationship with God after our sin caused separation.

But today, let’s make it even clearer.

Ephesians tells us that Jesus is our peace. Not that He gives peace… He is peace.

And it says He broke down the “middle wall of partition.”

That means there was a barrier, a division, and a separation between us and God.

And let’s be honest… we built that wall.

Our sin, our disobedience, our rejection of God, it all created distance. There was hostility. There was a disconnect.

But Jesus didn’t just come to stand near the wall…

He came to tear it down completely.

Through His sacrifice on the cross, He removed everything that was keeping us separated from God.

Here’s the light bulb moment:

Jesus didn’t just “bring us closer” to God…

He made a way for us to be fully restored to Him.

Not halfway.

Not partially.

Not temporarily.

Fully reconciled.

The scripture says He made “both one.” That means there is no longer division for those who are in Christ. What was broken has been brought back together.

And the cost of that?

His life.

He took the hostility, the punishment, the separation, and killed it on the cross.

So now the question becomes…

Why would we live like we’re still separated?

Why would we stay distant, silent, or disconnected from God when Jesus already did the hard part?

Today’s action is simple:

Come back to God fully.

Not halfway.

Not casually.

Not when it’s convenient.

Fully.

Pray. Talk to Him. Acknowledge what Jesus has done. Walk in the access you’ve been given.

And be encouraged; there is no wall between you and God anymore.

God bless you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to be our peace. Thank You for breaking down every wall that once separated us from You. Lord, help us to truly understand what Jesus has done and not take it lightly. Forgive us for the times we have lived as if we were still distant from You. Teach us to walk in full reconciliation, fully connected and surrendered to You. Let Your peace rule in our hearts, and remind us daily that we have access to You through Jesus Christ. Strengthen our relationship with You and help us draw closer like never before.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
