🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Don’t Give Up Now! Strength Is Coming

Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 KJV

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Devotion

Have you ever been through something so hard that you almost quit… only to discover later that you were much closer to the breakthrough than you thought?

Whewww! 😮‍💨

Maybe you were trying to finish school and got so overwhelmed that you considered dropping out. Maybe you were building something and became discouraged because the results weren’t coming fast enough. Maybe you were trying to get your finances back together, repair your marriage, overcome a bad habit, grow in your faith, or simply survive a difficult season of life.

You got tired.

Not regular tired either.

TIRED tired! 😂

The kind of tired where you say, “Lord, I don’t know how much more of this I can take.”

But somehow you kept going.

Then eventually you looked back and said,

“Thank God I didn’t quit!”

We’ve even seen this in movies. Somebody has fought, climbed, struggled, and pushed almost the entire way. They’re exhausted and ready to give up, but somebody says, “Keep going! We’re almost there!”

Suddenly they find enough strength for one more step.

Then another.

And another.

And finally…

They make it.

Sometimes the difference between seeing the victory and never seeing it is simply not quitting too soon.

Whewwww!

That’s what I want to tell somebody today:

DON’T GIVE UP NOW!

Strength is coming.

Let’s look at today’s Scripture.

Isaiah says:

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength…”

Notice the Scripture doesn’t say you will never get tired.

That’s important.

Sometimes we think being tired means something is wrong with our faith.

No!

You can love God and get tired.

You can be called by God and get tired.

You can be doing exactly what God told you to do and get tired.

You can be praying, believing, serving, working, raising your family, helping everybody else, and still have moments when you feel like,

“Lord, I need some strength!”

And God already knew those moments would come.

That’s why He promised renewal.

You can’t renew something that was never depleted.

Whewww! 😮‍💨

So if you feel drained today, don’t automatically assume it’s time to quit.

It may be time to be renewed.

There’s a difference!

Somebody has been ready to quit the assignment when what you really need is new strength for the assignment.

You’ve been thinking about giving up because you’re trying to continue with yesterday’s strength.

But yesterday’s strength was for yesterday.

God can give you what you need for TODAY.

🙌🏽

The Scripture says those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

Waiting on God doesn’t mean sitting around doing absolutely nothing.

It means continuing to trust Him while you don’t yet see everything He’s doing.

You pray while you wait.

You obey while you wait.

You keep believing while you wait.

You keep doing what He told you to do while you wait.

And most importantly…

You don’t run ahead of Him because you’re tired of waiting.

Whewww!

Because exhaustion can make you vulnerable to bad decisions.

When you’re tired, quitting starts looking reasonable.

Compromising starts looking reasonable.

Going back starts looking reasonable.

Taking shortcuts starts looking reasonable.

Settling starts looking reasonable.

That’s why you have to be careful about making permanent decisions during temporary exhaustion.

Don’t throw away something God told you to do because you’re having a hard season doing it.

Rest if you need to.

Pray.

Cry.

Ask for help.

Sit down for a minute.

Get yourself together.

But don’t automatically quit!

My, my, my.

Look at what God promises next:

“They shall mount up with wings as eagles…”

An eagle doesn’t have to spend the entire flight exhausting itself by flapping its wings.

It can rise and soar on air currents that carry it.

And sometimes that’s exactly what God has to teach us.

Stop trying to carry everything in your own strength and let Him carry you!

🙌🏽🔥

You’ve been flapping those wings HARD. 😂

Trying to fix everything.

Trying to control everything.

Trying to understand everything.

Trying to make everything happen when you think it should happen.

And God is saying,

“Trust Me.”

There is strength available to you that doesn’t come from you.

That’s why Isaiah didn’t say you would manufacture new strength.

He said your strength would be renewed.

God supplies what you don’t have.

Then the Scripture says:

“They shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

I love that.

Because sometimes life feels like running.

Things are happening quickly. You’re moving. You’re accomplishing things. You can see progress.

But other seasons?

You’re just walking.

One day at a time.

One prayer at a time.

One decision at a time.

One step at a time.

And sometimes you’re thinking,

“Lord, I thought I’d be further than this by now.”

Keep walking.

You don’t have to run every season.

Just don’t faint.

WHEWWWW! 🙌🏽

Maybe you’re not moving as quickly as somebody else.

Keep walking.

Maybe the prayer hasn’t been answered yet.

Keep walking.

Maybe you’re building something and growth has been slower than you expected.

Keep walking.

Maybe you’ve been fighting the same temptation and you’re tired of fighting.

Keep walking.

Maybe you’ve been doing the right thing and haven’t seen the reward yet.

KEEP WALKING!

Don’t compare your pace to somebody else’s journey.

Your responsibility is to keep following God.

Because the same God who gave you enough strength to get here already knows how much strength you’re going to need to get there.

Whewwwww! 🙌🏽🔥

And somebody needs to hear this:

Don’t mistake being tired for being finished.

Those are two completely different things.

You may be tired…

but God isn’t finished.

You may be discouraged…

but God isn’t finished.

You may not see the breakthrough yet…

but God isn’t finished.

You may feel like you’re barely walking…

but you’re still walking!

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Don’t give up now.

You don’t know how close you are to seeing why God told you to hold on.

You don’t know what He’s arranging that you cannot see.

You don’t know what door is about to open.

You don’t know what prayer is about to be answered.

And even if the answer doesn’t come the way you expected, you can trust that the God who brought you this far will give you the strength for whatever comes next.

So before you say,

“I quit.”

Say,

“Lord, renew my strength.”

Before you walk away…

Wait on the Lord.

Before you decide you can’t take another step…

Ask Him for enough strength to take one more.

And when He gives you that strength…

Take it.

Then ask Him for the next one.

You don’t have to have enough strength today for the rest of your life.

You just need enough strength to keep going today.

Whewwwww! 🙌🏽

Reflect & Respond

What have you been considering giving up on because you’re tired?

Before you quit, ask yourself:

Did God tell me to stop, or am I simply exhausted?

Those aren’t the same thing.

Maybe you don’t need an exit.

Maybe you need renewal.

Take some time today and tell God exactly where you’re tired.

Then wait on Him.

Rest in Him.

Trust Him.

And when He renews your strength…

GET BACK UP AND KEEP GOING!

Don’t give up now.

Strength is coming. 💙

Prayer :

Father God, I admit that there are areas of my life where I am tired.

Sometimes I feel discouraged, overwhelmed, impatient, and tempted to give up. But Lord, I don’t want temporary exhaustion to cause me to walk away from something You still want me to do.

Renew my strength.Where I am weak, strengthen me.

Where I am discouraged, encourage me.

Where I am confused, give me wisdom.

Where I am impatient, help me wait on You.

When I feel like running away, help me stand.

When I cannot run, help me walk.

And when I feel like I cannot walk another step, Lord, carry me until my strength returns.

Help me not to make decisions out of exhaustion, fear, disappointment, or frustration.

Teach me to trust Your timing and depend on Your strength instead of my own.

Father, open my eyes to recognize the progress I have already made and remind me of everything You have already brought me through.

I will not give up just because I’m tired.

I will wait on You.

I will trust You.

I will keep walking.

And I believe You will renew my strength.

Thank You for the strength to keep going.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏽💙
