“Where Is God? — Part 1”

Scripture: Psalm 145:18 (NLT)

“The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.”

Devotion: While some of us experience the presence of God daily, there are others who are silently wondering, “Where is God?”

For those who DO experience Him, they feel His presence every time they:

  • Pray

  • Simply call His name

  • Read His Word

  • Believe His Word

  • Praise Him

  • Worship Him

  • Enter His house among other believers

In all these acts, HIS PRESENCE COMES.

This is not emotional hype; this is spiritual truth. Scripture and countless testimonies confirm this over and over again.

Today’s scripture tells us plainly that God is CLOSE to ALL who call on Him in sincerity and in truth.

Every time I call His name ( “Jesus!”) I can feel Him step into my space, my situation, my mind, and my heart.

This is exactly why the enemy fights so hard to keep your mouth closed.

He does not want you to pray.

He does not want you to call on Jesus.

He does not want you to worship or read the Word.

He wants you to live a God-less life; a life without the presence, power, comfort, or closeness of God.

Those who are wondering where God is, or if He is even real, are usually those who do not do the things listed above. If that’s you… if you’re reading this saying:

“I have never felt God.”

“I read a verse or two but felt nothing.”

If you’re honest, you probably didn’t believe what you read.

Without reading God’s Word in faith daily, you won’t learn how He speaks, how He shows up, how much He loves you, or how near He truly is.

Don’t let the enemy trick you into silence.

Believe Psalm 145:18. Meditate on it.

Give God a try today by calling on Him in your own way, but call on Himin truth.

What is your truth?

Tell Him.

Speak it.

Call His name from a sincere place… and watch Him show up for you.

So where is God?

He is everywhere.

But He is waiting on YOU to call Him;

because your invitation gives Him permission to come closer.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being near to all who call on You in truth. Draw closer to me as I draw closer to You. Remove every doubt, every distraction, and every lie that keeps my mouth closed. Teach me to call on You with sincerity and faith. Let me feel Your presence in my heart, my home, my mind, and my life. I welcome You in.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
