🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Study Then Show Yourself Approved

Scripture: Galatians 1:12, 17-18 (KJV)

“For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” — Galatians 1:12

“Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.” — Galatians 1:17-18

Devotion: We live in a world where everything is fast.

People want quick success.

Quick promotions.

Quick followers.

Quick platforms.

And unfortunately…

Many also want quick ministry.

Have you ever watched someone attempt to do something they clearly were not prepared to do?

Maybe a person got promoted into management before they learned how to lead people. They had the title, but not the wisdom.

Or someone watched a few videos online and suddenly called themselves an expert. It did not take long before people realized they were in over their head.

Whew!

The same thing can happen in ministry.

Many are given religious titles such as minister, pastor, apostle, bishop, teacher, or evangelist without taking the time to truly study God’s Word and be approved by Him.

As a result, some cannot rightly divide the Word of Truth.

Some crumble when they are questioned about their faith.

Some teach error because they have never taken the time to learn the truth.

Others burn out because they were appointed before they were prepared.

My, my, my!

This brings us to today’s scripture.

Saul did not receive the Holy Ghost and immediately become an apostle.

There was much for him to learn.

The Holy Spirit had to teach him.

Paul wrote in Galatians that the Gospel he preached did not come from man.

He said,

“I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Glory to God!

That does not mean teachers are unnecessary.

It means revelation is indispensable.

You can sit in church every Sunday.

You can listen to sermons every day.

You can read devotion after devotion.

But until the Holy Spirit opens your understanding…

You will only have information.

God wants to give you revelation.

Whew!

After Saul escaped Damascus, he did not rush to Jerusalem to sit under Peter or John.

Instead, he went into Arabia.

He got alone with God.

He studied.

He listened.

He received revelation.

Jesus Himself became Saul’s Teacher through the Holy Spirit.

Notice something else.

Saul did not get saved and immediately think he knew everything.

He did not start a church the next week.

He became a student before becoming one of Christianity’s greatest teachers.

That takes humility.

Then after three years, he finally went to Jerusalem and spent fifteen days with Peter.

By the time Saul presented himself to the apostles, he was prepared.

He was confident; not because he was confident in himself; but because he was confident in the Word God had revealed to him.

Whew!

That should encourage all of us.

Do not rush the process.

Study.

Pray.

Listen.

Ask questions.

Sit with the Lord.

Let the Holy Spirit teach you.

The time you spend preparing in private will determine how effective you are in public.

Every day you open your Bible…

Every time you read these devotions…

Every moment you spend praying…

You are giving the Holy Spirit an opportunity to give you wisdom, understanding, and revelation.

Keep studying.

Keep growing.

Keep seeking.

Because when God is ready to use you, you will not only have a title…

You will be approved.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Holy Word and for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I do not want to simply gain information; I want revelation. Teach me Your truth and give me understanding that only You can provide. Help me to be patient in the preparation process and never rush ahead of Your timing. Give me a hunger to study, pray, and spend time in Your presence. Lead me by Your Spirit so that I rightly understand and live out Your Word. Prepare me for every assignment You have for my life, and when You choose to use me, let me be approved by You above all else.
