🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Why We Witness (The Great Commission) Pt 2

Scripture: Matthew 28:19

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”

Devotion: People passing out tracts at parks, standing in store parking lots offering prayer, and churches knocking on doors are all a part of the Great Commission.

While people may wonder why we witness, Matthew 28:16–20 explains the reason why and how it all started. Here in verse 19, Jesus first said to go and teach all nations. I love the order of His instructions and how it all makes sense.

You cannot just go around forcing Jesus, salvation, or trying to baptize people when they have not been taught yet. People are more receptive when they have understanding.

As the Lord’s church, we must be sure that we are teaching the Gospel the way He instructed us. This is what the disciples did, and they had much success in winning souls to Christ. They did not spend a lot of money, have extravagant events, or use gimmicks. They simply preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ and baptized people as instructed.

I have heard different religious denominations disagree on how to baptize people, but today’s scripture makes it clear. Jesus said to baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. God is all three. It covers the Holy Trinity.

It is a blessing and amazing that many are still out here doing the Great Commission. Let us pause and praise God together for that! Glory to God! Hallelujah, He is still alive in us!

Now think about the many people in your neighborhoods and the world around us who need to hear about salvation and the Savior, Jesus. Think about how their lives could be changed.

May you be encouraged, motivated, and strengthened by this devotion to go and do this great work of witnessing. There is no need to fear, for God is with you.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Word and for the clear instructions You have given us through Jesus Christ. Thank You for trusting us to carry the Gospel to the nations. Lord, help us to teach with clarity, love, and truth. Give us wisdom to reach people in a way they can understand and receive. Strengthen us to walk in obedience to Your command and not shrink back in fear. Let Your Spirit guide us as we witness, and let souls be saved through the words and lives You use. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise.
