🕊️ PRAY HERE DEVOTION 🕊️ Your Flesh Is Not Your Friend

Scripture: Romans 6:23 (KJV)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Devotion: When I tell you that your flesh will get you in trouble… BELIEVE IT.

There are people right now sitting in jail because they listened to their flesh.

Somebody somewhere is in debt up to their eyeballs because they listened to their flesh.

We have ALL been in bad situations because we let our flesh win.

And what do we say after?

“I should have followed my first mind.”

“I should have stayed home.”

“I knew better.”

Exactly.

Picture that old illustration of an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. That’s a good example of how it feels. That little voice telling you to do wrong will make it sound good, easy, and harmless.

But hear me clearly:

Everything the enemy tells you to do is leading to death.

Now I know what you might be thinking…

“Well, we’re all going to die one day.”

That is true.

But there’s a difference between living your full life and going to be with God…

and cutting your life short because of sin and bad decisions.

Sin can cause you to die too soon.

Wrong place.

Wrong time.

Wrong decision.

That’s how people end up with an early funeral.

Nothing is worth it.

I don’t care what they did to you; revenge is not worth your life.

I don’t care how much money you think you’ll get; all money ain’t good money.

I don’t care how good it feels in the moment; it’s not worth the consequence.

Your flesh is not trying to help you.

It’s trying to destroy you.

That urge to snap off, to get even, to do what feels good instead of what is right; that is your flesh. And if you follow it, it will take you somewhere you don’t want to go.

But God has given you another option.

The gift of God is eternal life.

Life.

Peace.

Protection.

Purpose.

You don’t have to follow your flesh.

You don’t have to fall into every trap.

You don’t have to learn the hard way every time.

Choose life.

Don’t let your flesh kill you.

God bless you.

Prayer: Father, help me to not follow my flesh. Strengthen me to say no to temptation and yes to what is right. Give me wisdom in my decisions and discipline in my actions. Protect me from choices that could harm me or shorten my life. I choose Your way over my flesh.
