🕊️ PRAY HERE DEVOTION 🕊️
The Key to Long Life

Scripture: Romans 6:23 (NKJV)

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Devotion: Have you noticed how much effort people put into trying to stay young?

When you look around the world today, people are doing all kinds of things to slow aging and hold on to youth. In previous years, 60 looked like 60. But now with all the cosmetics, procedures, and endless ways to alter appearance, someone who is 60 can look like they’re 30.

Seeing how far people go to chase the “forever young” dream tells you something: people don’t want to get old.

And the truth is, they don’t really want to die either.

But no matter how much we alter our appearance or try to slow time down, the reality is that we are still aging. Every person has an expiration date on this earth. No amount of money, beauty treatments, or medical advancement can stop time completely.

What many people are really searching for is life that never ends.

The Bible actually tells us where that life is found.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This scripture shows us two paths. The first is sin. The Bible calls the outcome of sin “wages,” meaning something earned. Sin always pays something back ; and the payment is death. Not just physical death one day, but spiritual separation from God.

The second path is God’s gift; eternal life through Jesus Christ.

The world spends billions trying to stay young, but the real key to living forever isn’t found in cosmetics, procedures, or trying to hold onto temporary youth. The real key is living for God and receiving the eternal life He offers.

No matter what we do to preserve our outward appearance, when we live in sin we are moving toward death. Sin slowly drains life, peace, and purpose.

But when we choose God, we receive something far greater than temporary youth ; we receive eternal life.

That’s the life people are truly searching for.

And the beautiful thing is that this gift isn’t earned through perfection. It’s received through faith in Jesus and a life that turns toward Him.

So while the world is chasing ways to stay young for a few more years, God is offering something far better ; life that never ends.

Prayer: Father, thank You for offering me the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Help me not to become distracted by the temporary things of this world. Remind me that true life is found in You. Give me the strength to turn away from sin and walk in the path that leads to life. Help me live each day in a way that honors You and prepares my heart for the eternal life You have promised.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
