🕊️ PRAY HERE DEVOTION 🕊️
How Much Do You Value Opportunity to Be A Light?

Scripture: Colossians 4:5 (NIV)

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.”

Devotion:

Have you ever thought about how much time you may have wasted?

Time lost to mistakes.

Time lost to poor decisions.

Time lost to distractions, bad habits, or simply not managing it well.

Many people look back and realize they spent years doing things that didn’t build their lives or reflect the kind of person they wanted to become.

But today’s scripture gives us another important perspective about time ; especially when it comes to how we live around people who do not know God.

Paul instructs believers to “be wise in the way you act toward outsiders.” Outsiders simply means those who are not believers, people who may not understand faith, God’s Word, or the lifestyle that comes with following Christ.

This is where wisdom matters.

Instead of allowing the world to influence us, we are called to influence the world. Instead of blending in, we are meant to stand out in character, integrity, patience, and love. The way we live around others can either draw them closer to God or push them further away.

That’s why the scripture says to make the most of every opportunity.

Every interaction is an opportunity.

An opportunity to respond differently.

An opportunity to show grace instead of anger.

An opportunity to demonstrate faith instead of fear.

An opportunity to let someone see the difference God has made in your life.

When believers become careless with their words, choices, or behavior around non-believers, valuable opportunities are lost. But when we live wisely, those same moments can become powerful examples of God’s influence in our lives.

Your life might be the closest example of Christ that someone ever sees.

So how valuable is time to you?

Every moment is an opportunity to represent God well, to live wisely, and to be a light in places where His truth may not yet be known.

Use that time well.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the opportunities You give me each day to represent You. Help me to live wisely, especially around those who do not yet know You. Guard my actions, my words, and my decisions so that they reflect Your character. Let my life be an example that draws others closer to You rather than pushing them away. Teach me to make the most of every opportunity You place before me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
