🕊️ PRAY HERE DEVOTION 🕊️ Learn in Order to Live

Scripture: Hosea 4:6 ESV

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;

because you have rejected knowledge,

I reject you from being a priest to me.

And since you have forgotten the law of your God,

I also will forget your children.”

Devotion: Have you ever heard, “knowledge is power”? Well, according to the Bible, knowledge is life! If the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, it makes sense why he tries to hinder us from knowledge. Fewer people push through and READ……..anything. Some are so bound, they can’t even read a sentence ; not because they can’t read, they just don’t want to. Guess what? The enemy loves that. This is how he kills us. If he can keep you too lazy to learn, he can keep you dumb enough to perish (die).

Knowledge is all around us. The people who never stop learning also never stop living. The answers to all of our problems are waiting on us to READ and HEAR God’s word. There is also so many other educational resources that God inspired the author to teach others.

Today’s scripture is quoted A LOT! Most of the time, people only quote that one line, “My people perish for the lack of knowledge,” and stop there. Let’s read the rest of this verse together.

Hosea 4:6

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;

because you have rejected knowledge,

I reject you from being a priest to me.

And since you have forgotten the law of your God,

I also will forget your children.”

For some, this was your first time reading past that first line. To make a long story short, God was speaking to the priest and the people of Israel through Hosea.

This word is SO RELEVANT TO WHERE WE ARE NOW. Look around ; people are rejecting God’s Word! As a result of this, our world is suffering so much death and destruction. He moves on to say, “Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will forget your children.”

Pray for this generation of forgotten children and the people who have rejected God’s Word. Pray that they receive His Word and knowledge so they can live.

Prayer: Father God, forgive us for rejecting Your Word and taking knowledge lightly. Restore our hunger to learn, to read, and to grow in You. Open our understanding so that we may live and not perish. Cover this generation and do not forget our children. Draw them back to Your truth and Your ways.
