“Save Yourself • Pt. 2”

Scripture: Acts 2:40–41 (NLT)

“Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, ‘Save yourselves from this crooked generation!’ Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.”

Devotion

In today’s devotion, we continue our discussion on Acts 2:40–41. The Bible says Peter preached strongly and for a long time. Why? Because he desperately wanted the people to be saved. He understood the urgency. He understood what was at stake. He understood the danger of rejecting Jesus and staying connected to a crooked generation.

And honestly…, nothing has changed.

Just like Peter, spiritual leaders, teachers, and everyday believers today are passionately posting scriptures, sharing devotions, preaching, teaching, and urging people, “Please save yourselves and choose Jesus.” We’re pleading with the same intensity because the need is just as great.

But people, just like back then, still struggle to believe. Some of you may have heard the saying growing up, “Some folks just don’t believe fat meat is greasy!”And it’s still true. People scroll past the Word, ignore the invitations, and turn a deaf ear to God’s warnings and God’s love.

Some think, “Life is good! I have nothing to be saved from.”

Others think,“This world is too messed up ; nobody can be saved from this.”

Both are false.

The truth is: WE ALL need to be saved from the corruption around us.

If you’re not careful, the crookedness of this generation will slip into your heart and life without you even noticing.

I have seen “saved” women posting thirst traps like the unchurched.

I have seen “men of God” preaching with power and committing adultery.

How does this happen?

Because this wicked generation pulls in those who are not truly hearing God’s Word. They’re sitting in church but not listening. Following Christian pages but not obeying. Worshipping publicly but living loosely privately.

And maybe you feel none of this applies to you.

But let me remind you:trouble will knock on every door.

You can be doing everything right, and suddenly life hits you.

That is why we need Jesus.

That is why we need salvation.

That is why we need a Savior.

As the Bible progresses and prophecy unfolds, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Something, whether joy or tragedy ; will bring every person to their knees. But the blessing is this: You can bow now. You can save yourself now.

When you choose Jesus today, you change how the world affects you tomorrow.

You change your outcome.

You change your protection.

You change your spiritual covering.

You change your eternity.

Whew! Now that we’ve addressed those who reject the warning, let’s look at what happened to those who listened.

Acts 2:41 tells us that THOSE WHO BELIEVED what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day ; about 3,000 souls!

The scripture doesn’t list the ones who didn’t believe, but it does celebrate the ones who did. They heard the truth, believed it, and acted on it immediately. What a powerful decision!

I pray this devotion has stirred your heart and awakened your mind.

I pray you feel the tug of God drawing you.

And I pray today , you choose to Save Yourself.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for giving me another opportunity to receive Your truth. Open my eyes to see the areas where I need saving. Protect my heart from the corruption of this world. Give me the strength to choose You daily and to follow Your Word wholeheartedly. Lord, I want to be counted among those who hear, believe, and respond. Save me, cleanse me, and cover me. I surrender my life to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
