šŸ•Šļø PRAY HERE DEVOTION šŸ•Šļø Excuse Avenue

Scripture: Romans 6:1–2 (NIV)

ā€œWhat shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?ā€

Devotion: Have you ever known someone who always has an excuse for the wrong they do? No matter what happens, it’s never their fault. There’s always a reason, a justification, or a loophole they can point to. Unfortunately, one of the most common excuses ā€œbelieversā€ use for sin is grace. Grace is beautiful, powerful, and life-changing , but it is also one of the most abused concepts in the church today.

Another popular excuse is, ā€œNobody is perfect.ā€ While that statement is true, using it as a justification to continue in sin only keeps you stuck in sin. It causes believers to unknowingly, yet willfully, blend in with the world, convincing themselves that disciplined, surrendered living is impossible. That is a lie from the enemy.

People who live on what I call Excuse Avenue often do the following:

• They confuse saying they are saved with actually surrendering to God.

• They confuse having a gift with being godly.

• They confuse anointing with approval.

Just because we say we are saved does not mean we are living a life fully surrendered to God. Having gifts does not automatically make someone holy. Being anointed does not mean God approves of our lifestyle or heart posture. God can use a person and still require repentance from them.

Today’s scripture asks a powerful question: ā€œShall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?ā€ And the answer is firm and clear ; By no means! If we have truly died to sin, how can we continue to live in it comfortably?

Grace is not a license to sin; it is the power to overcome sin. Don’t let the world or the enemy fool you into staying stuck on Excuse Avenue. God is calling us to move on to Freedom Circle. A fully surrendered life is possible through Jesus Christ. Freedom is real, but excuses will keep you bound.

Prayer: Father, expose every excuse I’ve used to justify sin in my life. Help me to see grace for what it truly is, the power to live free, not the permission to stay bound. Give me a surrendered heart and the courage to walk away from anything that keeps me from You. I want truth, freedom, and transformation.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
