Where Is God? — Part 2: Everywhere

Scripture: Psalm 139:7–10 (NLT)

“I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.”

Devotion: He who created the heavens and the earth is EVERYWHERE (Genesis 1:1).

God is omnipresent and supreme. He is not limited by time, distance, location, or circumstance. David discovered this truth deeply in his own life, and today’s scripture is his testimony. He felt surrounded by God; no matter where he was or what he faced.

Everyone who believes and has a relationship with God eventually learns this same truth. Jesus said in John 14:17:

“The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.”

You cannot see or feel someone you do not believe in.

Lack of belief makes a person feel like God is not with them;even though He is.

For example, think about someone walking through a difficult season feeling abandoned, not realizing that the prayers of a mother, grandmother, or friend are the very reason they made it through. God was covering them the entire time; they just didn’t recognize His presence.

The Spirit of God will NEVER leave you.

There is no place you can go where God cannot reach you.

No distance too far.

No darkness too deep.

No situation too hopeless.

And that is a GOOD thing.

Everything good, pure, healing, safe, and holy is wrapped up in God.

We are never alone.

David knew this well; that’s why he was always protected, comforted, and encouraged. And we have that same access to God’s presence today.

No matter how bad, broken, or unworthy you think you are, nothing can separate you from His love or His presence (Romans 8:38–39).

God is not just near;

He is everywhere.

And He is with YOU.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being everywhere I am. Thank You that Your presence surrounds me, comforts me, and guides me. Help me to recognize You in every moment of my life. Remove every doubt that tells me I am alone. Remind me daily that nothing can separate me from Your love or Your presence. I welcome Your Spirit to lead me, strengthen me, and stay close to me always.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
