🕊️PRAY HERE Devotion🕊️“Praying in the Name of Jesus” Pt. 2

Scripture: “Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus. After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” — Acts 4:30–31 (NIV)

Devotion: This devotion is a continuation of Part 1, so please read yesterday’s devotion first.

In order for the disciples to carry out what they prayed : to speak God’s Word with boldness and continue His work performing signs and wonders through the name of Jesus Christ , it would require power from on high.

So, they passionately prayed for this power in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. And verse 31 reveals God’s powerful response to their prayer! HALLELUJAH! He filled them with the Holy Ghost, and immediately after, they spoke the Word of God boldly!

The Holy Ghost empowered them to do exactly what they had prayed for. It was the fulfillment of the promise found in Acts 1:8, which says, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses.”

I am a living testimony of this truth. Being filled with the Holy Ghost gave me an automatic boldness to declare and speak God’s Word. It was evident that it was God’s power working in me because my natural personality is quiet and the opposite of bold. But when the Holy Ghost filled me, I became an instant witness for God!

Now, you might be thinking, “That sounds good, but I’m not ready to be a witness or do all that.” But let me ask you something:

Do you get easily angered, offended, or frustrated?

Do you struggle with thinking positively, doing the right things, or having faith?

If you struggle with any of those things , or even understanding God’s Word , the Holy Ghost will help you. Not only will He empower you to be bold like the disciples, but He will also strengthen you to overcome personal struggles and spiritual battles.

Praying in the name of Jesus not only gives us answered prayers, it also invites the Holy Ghost in!

So, if you want more power to fight the enemy, to conquer your weaknesses, and to live victoriously ; pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and ask to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost today.

I promise you, your life will NEVER be the same!

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the power in the name of Jesus. Today, I ask that You fill me with Your Holy Ghost so that I may live boldly for You. Empower me to speak Your Word, to overcome my struggles, and to walk in victory every day. Let Your Spirit lead me, guide me, and strengthen me. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
