Scripture: Luke 24:46-48
âAnd said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.â
Devotion: In order to be a âreal witness â you must have witnessed something; meaning you âseenâ something happen.
When the Bible calls us witnesses, itâs not just giving us a title⌠itâs reminding us of our experience. A witness is someone who can say, âI know what I saw. I know what I experienced. I know what God did for me.â
Some people think witnessing is about having the perfect words or knowing the entire Bible from front to back. But the truth is, your testimony is your evidence. Itâs the proof that God is real, active, and still moving today.
You may not have walked with Jesus physically like the disciples did, but you have seen Him move in your life. You have seen Him bring you out, heal you, protect you, provide for you, and give you peace when it made no sense. That makes you a witness.
And not only that⌠when you hear and see what God has done for others, it strengthens your faith and adds even more confirmation of who He is. đ It builds a collection of evidence that cannot be denied.
Our testimonies along with other peopleâs testimonies that we have witnessed adds to the evidence confirming who Jesus is! đ
So donât downplay your story. Donât silence what God has shown you. Somebody needs your witness. Somebody needs to hear what youâve seen God do so they can believe that He will do it for them too.
You are not just going through things⌠you are gathering testimony. You are living proof. You are a witness.
Prayer: Father God, thank You for every moment You have revealed Yourself in my life. Thank You for the things You brought me through, the prayers You answered, and the ways You showed me that You are real. Help me to never be ashamed of my testimony, but to boldly share what I have seen You do. Use my story to encourage someone else and draw them closer to You. Let my life be evidence of Your power, Your love, and Your truth. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
