🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Why We Witness (The Great Commission) Pt 1

Scripture: Matthew 28:18 (KJV)

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Devotion: The Bible declares so many reasons why we go through Jesus to get to God. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. He reconciles us with God. I will break this down in another devotion.

Today, our focus is why we tell others about the gospel of Jesus Christ so that they might also be saved.

Sometime after day 14 post resurrection, this meeting on the mountain in Galilee happened. The disciples were seeing Jesus alive again after watching Him be crucified. Can you imagine that moment?

The Bible tells us that some worshipped Him… but some doubted.

Now let’s be real; what would our response have been?

We would have been shocked, overwhelmed, maybe even afraid. Some of us would be crying, some shouting, some still trying to process what we’re seeing.

But in the middle of all of that… Jesus gave them instructions.

He didn’t say, “Go sit down somewhere.”

He didn’t say, “Keep this to yourselves.”

He said, GO.

Go teach.

Go tell.

Go baptize.

Go make disciples.

Why? Because this is the whole reason He sacrificed His life.

It was for our liberty.

It was so we could be saved.

It was so others could be saved too.

This wasn’t just a suggestion… this was a commission.

While some people may find it strange or insignificant to witness about Jesus, many people have been saved as a result of someone simply opening their mouth and sharing the truth.

Somebody told you.

Somebody prayed for you.

Somebody introduced you to Jesus.

And now… it’s your turn.

In today’s scripture, Jesus plainly said:

“All power is given unto me in Heaven and in earth.”

That right there should give you confidence.

When the government looks unstable… He has all power.

When the world feels chaotic… He has all power.

When trouble knocks on your door… He has all power.

So when you go and tell someone about Jesus, you are not going alone.

You are going with the authority and power of the One who saved you.

There is nothing you can face that Jesus does not have the power to change.

Accepting Jesus Christ into your heart and believing that He died and rose just to save you is the best decision you could ever make.

And sharing that truth with someone else… could save their life.

God bless you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to save us and reconcile us back to You. Thank You for the power and authority that comes through Him. Lord, give us boldness to share Your truth with others. Remove fear, doubt, and hesitation, and help us walk in obedience to Your Word. Let our lives and our words point people to You. Use us to bring others into salvation.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
