🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Who Do You Give the Credit To?

Scripture: Romans 11:36

“For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.”

Devotion: God has gifted us all with talents and abilities.

Because people cannot physically see the God who gave you the gift: to speak well, sing, preach the Gospel, succeed in athletics, influence others, lead, create, and be blessed in so many ways; people will often praise you.

For example, you step off the platform after doing whatever it is God gifted you to do. Maybe you sang, preached, taught, spoke, or performed.

People come up saying, “You were amazing!”

“You did such a great job!”

“You are so talented!”

“Nobody could have done that like you!”

And if you just stand there, take it all in, and receive all that praise without ever pointing them back to God… you have taken His glory.

That gift was never yours to own.

It was given.

That ability was never self-made.

It came from God.

Let’s talk about this scripture.

“For of Him…”

That means it started with God.

“And through Him…”

That means it continues because of God.

“And to Him…”

That means it all goes back to God.

Everything.

This scripture has been embedded in me for a long time. The Holy Spirit gave me true understanding of it, and from that day forward, I practiced giving God the glory and not taking it for myself.

God has done some amazing things through me, but when people praise me, I ALWAYS give the glory to God and let them know; it’s not me, it’s God.

Because I know where it came from.

Let’s look at Joseph.

In Genesis chapter 41, when Pharaoh asked Joseph to interpret his dream, Joseph did not say, “I got this. I’m gifted. I know how to do this.”

No.

Joseph told Pharaoh it was God who would give the interpretation.

He did not take credit for the wisdom or the gift.

He gave the credit and glory to God.

That is the posture we must have.

I recently saw a Christian athlete receive the biggest signing check in his career field; an incredible blessing and a major moment.

He is a great athlete.

But what blessed me most was his response.

He publicly gave God the glory for his talent and success and prayed openly.

THIS is how you respond to blessings from God.

Not arrogance.

Not pride.

Not acting like you did it all by yourself.

But humility.

Because if God takes His hand off of it, where would we be?

So let me ask you:

Who do you give the credit to?

When people praise you… do you point them to yourself or to God?

Because the glory belongs to Him.

Always.

God bless you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for every gift, talent, opportunity, and blessing You have placed in our lives. Lord, forgive us for the times we have taken credit for what only You could have done. Help us to walk in humility and always remember that everything we have comes from You. Teach us to give You the glory in every success, every achievement, and every open door. Let our lives point people back to You and never to ourselves. May Your name be lifted high through all that we do.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
