Scripture: Acts 3:11–12
“And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them… greatly wondering.
And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?”
Devotion:Â I remember a lady buying a cake every year to take to a work party, but she told all her coworkers that she made the cake.
That is taking credit for something you did not do.
Whew!
And honestly, people do this all the time in bigger ways.
A person gets promoted on a job and acts like it was only their intelligence, forgetting the favor of God that opened the door.
A singer receives applause from thousands and never acknowledges the God who gave them the voice.
An athlete breaks records and gets celebrated worldwide but forgets Who gave them the strength, health, and ability.
Even in ministry, people can become so caught up in praise from others that they start acting like they are the source instead of the vessel.
But even the many times God has used me to do amazing things, I always tell people:
“It was God, not me.”
Because I know where the power came from.
Now let’s look at today’s scripture.
After Peter commanded the lame man to rise up and walk in the name of Jesus Christ, the man immediately leaped up with joy, praising God for his healing.
This was miraculous because the man had been lame since birth.
Can you imagine witnessing that?
The people were amazed.
They all came running to Peter and John wondering how this happened.
Now Peter and John could have easily taken the praise, glory, and credit for themselves.
They could have acted powerful and important.
But instead, Peter corrected the people immediately.
He basically said:
“Why are y’all looking at us like we did this by our own power or holiness?”
Whew!!
Peter understood something very important:
The glory belongs to God.
Peter took that moment, not to promote himself, but to point people to Jesus.
He told them that the same Jesus they rejected and crucified was the One who healed the man.
That is humility.
And honestly, this is something we all have to watch.
Because praise from people can become addictive if your heart is not right.
The moment we start taking God’s glory for ourselves, we are in dangerous territory.
Without God, none of us could do anything.
Every gift.
Every opportunity.
Every miracle.
Every accomplishment.
Every open door.
It all comes from Him.
So today, ask yourself:
When people praise me, do I point them to myself… or to God?
Because the glory belongs to Him.
Always.
God bless you!
Prayer:Â Father God, thank You for every gift, opportunity, blessing, and accomplishment in my life. Lord, help me to never become prideful or take credit for what only You could have done. Keep my heart humble and remind me that all power, favor, wisdom, and success come from You. Teach me to always give You the glory and point others back to You. Let my life reflect humility, gratitude, and honor toward Your name. I never want to steal Your glory; I want everything I do to glorify You.
In Jesus name, Amen.

Amen!!!!
To GOD be All the Glory🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
