🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ The Anointing Provides Divine Protection!

Scripture: Psalm 105:15; Psalm 20:6 (KJV)

Psalm 105:15

“Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”

Psalm 20:6

“Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.”

Devotion:

Yesterday we talked about how God’s anointing empowers us to do things we could never accomplish on our own. It equips us to serve the Lord and fulfill His purpose for our lives.

Today, let’s talk about another beautiful benefit of God’s anointing.

It provides divine protection.

I remember playing a video game where your character could pick up this glowing shield. As long as that shield surrounded you, nothing the enemy threw at you could touch you.

😂 Whewwww!!

That is how I picture God’s anointing.

The enemy sees God’s hand upon your life and already knows…

“I better leave that one alone!”

🙌 Get thee hence, Satan! I am God’s anointed child!

Matter of fact…

Some of you need to say that one more time with authority.

“I am God’s anointed child!”

Praise God! 🙌🔥

Now don’t misunderstand me.

The enemy may attack…

He may threaten…

He may try to discourage you…

But he cannot do anything that God does not permit.

Whewwww!!

Have you ever looked back over your life and realized,

“That car accident should have taken me out.”

“I should have never walked away from that situation.”

“My child should have been killed… but God!”

Or perhaps you missed your usual exit, got delayed by just a few minutes, and later discovered there had been a terrible accident exactly where you would have been.

Coincidence?

I don’t think so.

Sometimes that’s God’s divine protection.

Let’s look at our first scripture.

We already learned that the anointed are those whom God has chosen, set apart, and empowered for His divine purpose.

These are the people whose “yes” came from their heart.

You know, there’s a difference between saying yes with your mouth…

And saying yes with your life.

Whewww!

Many people say,

“Lord, use me.”

But when sacrifice shows up…

When obedience costs something…

When forgiveness becomes difficult…

When serving requires inconvenience…

Their “yes” disappears.

This is one reason Jesus said,

“Many are called, but few are chosen.”

Not everyone is willing to carry what comes with being chosen.

Now let’s read Psalm 105:15 together.

“Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”

David wasn’t making this up.

He was looking back over Israel’s history.

He remembered how God protected Abraham.

How He protected Isaac.

How He protected Jacob.

These weren’t superheroes.

They were ordinary people…

Just like you and me.

The difference was…

They carried God’s covenant and His purpose.

Again and again, God stepped in on their behalf.

He rebuked kings.

He redirected enemies.

He made a way where there seemed to be no way.

My, my, my!

Now let’s connect that with Psalm 20:6.

“Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed…”

Did you catch that?

Not only does God anoint…

He saves His anointed.

Not only does He call…

He protects what He calls.

Not only does He send…

He sustains those He sends.

Whewwww!! 🙌

That doesn’t mean we won’t face trouble.

It means trouble will never have the final say.

I can honestly look back over my own life and see moments where I know God’s hand protected me.

Not only me…

My family too.

I’m sure many of you can say the same.

When you look back, you realize,

“God was protecting me even when I didn’t know I needed protecting.”

That’s the kind of Father we serve.

As we continue studying the anointing, don’t seek it because you want people to know your name.

Seek God’s presence because you want to know Him and fulfill His purpose.

His protection is not a license to be reckless.

It is a promise that nothing can stop God’s purpose for your life until He says your assignment is complete.

Today, ask yourself…

Do I truly want to be chosen?

Because being chosen comes with responsibility…

But it also comes with the privilege of walking under God’s hand.

If your answer is yes…

Make sure your yes is sincere.

Reflection

Take a quiet moment today and ask yourself:

Is my “yes” to God coming only from my lips… or from my whole heart?

God doesn’t just look for willing words.

He looks for willing hearts.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for choosing, calling, and protecting those who belong to You. Thank You for every time You have shielded me and my family from dangers that we never even knew existed. I desire for my “yes” to come from my heart and not just from my lips. Help me to remain faithful to the purpose You have given me, even when it requires sacrifice or obedience. Thank You for being my Protector, my Defender, and my Deliverer. Strengthen my faith so that I never live in fear, but confidently trust that Your hand is upon my life. Let me always walk humbly under Your anointing, remembering that it is for Your glory and the service of others. I surrender myself completely to You. Use me, protect me, and keep me in the center of Your will.
