šŸ•Šļø PRAY HERE DEVOTION šŸ•Šļøā€ØSaved by Someone’s Prayer

Scripture: Genesis 19:29 (NIV)

ā€œSo when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.ā€

Devotion: There’s an old song that says, ā€œMy mother prayed for me. Had me on her mind. She took the time and prayed for me. I’m so glad she prayed for me.ā€Sometimes we don’t realize just how true that is. We’ve been spared from danger, protected from destruction, healed, favored, and redirected; not because we were so good, but because somebody prayed for us.

I am truly grateful for every person who has ever prayed for me. We don’t always know who prayed. They may never tell us. But we are living on their prayers and God’s grace.

Let’s be honest. You have received better outcomes than you deserved at times, and it was to your surprise. Sometimes we know someone is praying for us, and sometimes we don’t.

Today’s scripture is a perfect example, and points this out very clearly. Lot was not good enough to be spared. Let’s just say it plainly. He wasn’t living righteously. He chose to live in Sodom. He lingered when God told him to leave. His wife disobeyed and turned back. Lot did not earn his escape.

Yet… he was saved.

Why?

Genesis 19:29 says, ā€œGod remembered Abraham.ā€

Not Lot.

Abraham.

Lot was spared because someone God heard prayed for him.

Sometimes it’s not your goodness that keeps you from trouble.

It’s not your wisdom that saves your job.

It’s not your righteousness that opens doors or gives you favor.

SOMEBODY WHO GOD HEARS PRAYED FOR YOU.

You were warned when others weren’t.

You were protected when others fell.

You walked away when it could’ve gone another way.

You’re still standing because prayer intercepted destruction.

God honored Abraham’s intercession and rescued Lot from a place he had no business being in. That should humble us. It should also encourage us.

Never underestimate the power of praying for others. And never forget to thank God for the prayers that saved you when you didn’t even know you needed saving.

Prayer:Father, thank You for every prayer that has covered me, spoken and unspoken, known and unknown. Thank You for sparing me when I didn’t deserve it and protecting me when I couldn’t protect myself. Help me to never take Your mercy for granted and to become an intercessor for others the way someone interceded for me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
