šŸ•Šļø PRAY HERE Devotion šŸ•Šļø Same Demons; Different Day

Scripture:Ā Mark 1:32–34

ā€œThat evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. The whole town gathered at the door, and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demonsā€¦ā€

Devotion:Ā Have you ever heard the saying, ā€œHistory repeats itselfā€?

It is true more often than you think.

Things evolve and change, but history somehow continues to show up again.

It is disturbing to know that many believers and Christians do not believe, or even know, that demons still exist.

Have you ever heard the phrase, ā€œThe devil made me do it?ā€ šŸ‘€

Hmmmm… let’s see.

Lying.

Killing.

Stealing.

Cheating.

Hatred.

Violence.

Addictions.

Cruelty.

Who or what would influence people to do these things?

God surely would not influence us to do evil.

The devil and his demons are influencing and controlling people EVERYWHERE.

Just look at the evil happening in our world today.

Mass killings.

Children being abused.

People completely overtaken by addiction.

Sudden rage, violence, hatred, and darkness increasing daily.

And sadly, many people explain away spiritual things without realizing there is demonic activity behind much of what we see.

Just as in Bible days, people were demon possessed; people are still being possessed and oppressed by demons today.

Whew!

Now let’s dive into today’s scripture.

Earlier that morning, Jesus had taught in the synagogue with authority and cast an unclean spirit out of a man.

And where did this happen?

At Sabbath service.

At church!

That alone should open somebody’s eyes.

Everybody sitting in church is not automatically free.

People were astonished and wanted to know what this new doctrine was that Jesus was teaching because they saw even unclean spirits obeying Him.

Jesus performed several miracles throughout the day, and by sunset, because of what the people saw and heard about Him, crowds gathered at the house where He was staying.

Why?

Because they wanted healing and deliverance.

The sick came.

The bound came.

The tormented came.

And Jesus healed and delivered them.

Now let me ask you something:

Where can people go today for healing and deliverance?

Because people are still bound.

People are still tormented.

People are still crying out silently for freedom.

And many churches have stopped talking about deliverance altogether.

But the Deliverer still lives.

Jesus still has power over demons, sickness, oppression, and bondage.

And if He did it then… He can still do it now.

Join me tomorrow for Part 2. I will also be doing a live Bible study teaching. Details will be posted on PRAY HERE Facebook page.

God bless you, and remember:

The Deliverer still lives.

Prayer:Ā Father God, I thank You for the power and authority of Jesus Christ over every sickness, bondage, and unclean spirit. Lord, I ask You to expose every area in my life where the enemy is trying to influence, oppress, or control me. Deliver me from every evil thing that is not like You. Heal my mind, my heart, and my spirit. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and give me discernment to recognize the works of the enemy. I believe You are still the Deliverer, and I trust You to set me free completely.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
