🕊️ PRAY HERE DEVOTION 🕊️
“Resisting the Devil is a Daily Job”

Scripture: James 4:7 (NKJV)

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Devotion: Let’s be honest. It can really be upsetting when you are trying to do right, and trouble and challenges keep arising.

Why is it that when we make the right decision to do right, a trap is always set to make us fall? It’s enough to make you scream and stop trying. That’s exactly what the enemy wants us to do, and we cannot let him win.

Telling temptation and opportunities to crash out NO is a daily action.

We always quote today’s scripture like this: “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” In other words, if you can say no and not give in to him, he will leave you alone… until he comes back and tries again.

But when we quote this scripture, we often leave out the most important part:

“Submit yourselves to God.”

This means aligning with and doing what He says.

It means not going off because He said hold your words and let Him fight for you.

It means stopping bad habits, ending bad friendships and relationships.

It means making decisions that please the Lord and save you from trouble at the same time.

Submitting to God is what makes resisting the devil possible.

A person who is submitting to God is less likely to take the bait of the enemy. They are less likely to give in and do wrong. Listen, resisting the devil is something we have to do every single day. The enemy is not going to stop trying to make you lose. He does not want you to win in life or do the right thing.

But submitting to God creates a lifestyle that makes it easier to resist the devil.

Start submitting to God today and watch it bless your life. You can do this!

Prayer: Father, help me to submit to You fully. Strengthen me to resist every temptation and every trap set before me. Teach me to align my actions, words, and thoughts with Your will. When I feel weak, remind me that I am not fighting alone. Give me daily victory as I choose You over the enemy.

In Jesus’ name, Amen
