🕊️PRAY HERE Devotion🕊️“Praying in the Name of Jesus” Pt. 1

Scripture: “Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” — Acts 4:30 (NIV)

Devotion: Our Heavenly Father is always readily available to hear and answer our prayers. But when we pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, it adds powerto our prayers. It shows God how much faith we truly have in Him.

Often, we will pray without faith and receive minimal or no results. But when we pray with much faith and in the most powerful name there is, it adds assurance and authority to our prayer. You activate, acknowledge, and invite the power of God into your situation.

In today’s scripture, the disciples were facing serious threats from Jewish authorities who had already put Peter and John in jail for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You would think that would have stopped them. Many of us, with little faith, might have stopped preaching out of fear of being jailed or persecuted.

But I LOVE THE DISCIPLES’ RESPONSE! Not only did they not stop preaching, but they prayed in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! They didn’t pray for comfort or to avoid prison. Instead, they prayed that they would be enabled to speak God’s Word with boldness and continue the work of the Lord ; no matter the threats or opposition.

Wow! What a mighty example of faithfulness and confidence in the power of Jesus’ name. They understood that true power and miracles happen when we call on His name.

When you pray today, be encouraged by their example. Don’t just pray timidly : pray boldly in the name of Jesus, believing that God will move on your behalf.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for giving us the mighty name of Jesus to pray in. Teach me to pray with faith, confidence, and boldness. Help me to remember that there is power in the name of Jesus and that through Him all things are possible. Strengthen my faith and let Your power be revealed in my life.
