🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Pentecost is Here!

Scripture: Acts 2:1–4

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Devotion: Many churches acknowledge Pentecost Sunday, and many do not.

Some think God is no longer pouring out His Spirit, and some know for sure that He still is!

At my old church, they used to ask:

“Do you got it like the Bible say?”

Whew!

We are living in a time now where that is still a very relevant question.

Many organizations and religious groups have created their own versions of being saved and what it means to have the Holy Spirit.

And honestly, how we as believers can sometimes disregard the clear truth in the Word of God and still choose to do our own thing is not wise and does not make much sense.

Let’s take a look at today’s text.

They heard about the promise.

They believed for it.

They prepared themselves.

They gathered together.

And they waited for the Holy Spirit to come.

Wow.

The Bible says they were all on one accord.

That sounds like some old powerful church services I have had the privilege to experience.

No distractions.

No division.

No performance.

Just hungry people seeking God together.

Then suddenly…

The Bible says it came like a rushing mighty wind and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

We are talking about the Comforter.

The Holy Ghost that was promised.

The Spirit of God Himself.

And it gives us power from on high!

Without the Holy Ghost, we struggle terribly with obeying God’s commands and resisting sin.

Why?

Because we were born into sin.

There is a constant war between your flesh wanting to sin and your heart wanting to do what is RIGHT.

Whew!

But the Holy Ghost gives us supernatural power to walk the righteous path.

That is why this matters so much.

This is not just about speaking in tongues or having an emotional church experience.

This is about having the Spirit of God living inside of you, helping you overcome sin, guiding you into truth, comforting you, convicting you, and empowering you to live holy.

And guess what?

The Holy Ghost is still being poured out today.

God is still filling people.

God is still changing lives.

God is still empowering believers.

The question is:

Are you hungry for Him?

Are you willing to believe and receive what was promised?

Because Pentecost is not just history…

Pentecost is HERE!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for the promise of the Holy Ghost. Thank You for not leaving me without help, comfort, and power. Lord, I desire Your Spirit in my life. Fill me fresh with Your presence and help me to walk in obedience and truth. Strengthen me against sin and against every attack of the enemy. Let Your Spirit guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions daily. Give me a deeper hunger for You and help me to fully believe Your Word. I want the power, peace, and relationship that comes through the Holy Ghost.
