🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Once Was Blind

Scripture: Acts 9:7-9 (ERV)

“The men traveling with Saul stood there, but they said nothing. They heard the voice, but they saw no one. Saul got up from the ground and opened his eyes, but he could not see. So the men with him took his hand and led him into Damascus. For three days Saul could not see, and he did not eat or drink.”

Devotion: Have you ever walked into a dark room and bumped into something because you could not see?

Or maybe the lights suddenly went out while you were walking through your house. Even though you knew the layout, you still slowed down because you did not want to run into something.

Why?

Because you could not see.

Whew!

That is exactly how life is without Jesus Christ.

Many people think they can see just fine.

They have careers.

They have money.

They have education.

They have influence.

But spiritually… they are blind.

That was Saul.

He thought he knew exactly what he was doing.

He believed he was serving God.

He believed he was doing the right thing by arresting Christians.

He was passionate…

But he was passionately wrong.

Then Jesus met him.

And after the encounter, the man who thought he could see became physically blind.

Glory to God!

Why is that significant?

Because before Saul lost his natural sight, he was already spiritually blind.

He could not see Jesus for who He really was.

He could not recognize the truth.

He could not recognize that he was actually fighting against God.

Whew!

How many people are living just like Saul today?

Until we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ, we cannot truly see.

We make bad decisions because we cannot see.

We keep running into trouble because we cannot see.

The enemy tricks us into working for him because we cannot see.

We cannot even recognize that he is the one influencing us.

My, my, my!

Have you ever looked back over your life and thought,

“What was I thinking?”

The truth is…

You weren’t seeing clearly.

That’s why Jesus said,

“I am the light of the world.”

Jesus is the light for our dark path.

Without Him, we stumble.

Without Him, we fall.

Without Him, we mistake wrong for right and right for wrong.

But when Jesus opens your spiritual eyes, everything changes.

You begin to see people differently.

You begin to see sin differently.

You begin to see yourself differently.

You begin to recognize the traps of the enemy before you step into them.

You begin to walk with wisdom instead of confusion.

Glory to God!

Notice something else.

Saul had to be led by the hand.

The man who once thought he was leading others now had to depend on someone else to lead him.

Sometimes God will allow us to realize we are not as strong, wise, or independent as we thought.

Why?

Because He wants us to depend on Him.

Whew!

If you have accepted Jesus Christ, thank Him today for opening your eyes.

If you have not, ask Him to remove the blindness that keeps you from seeing the truth.

Because once Jesus opens your eyes…

You will never want to go back to living in darkness again.

God bless you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for opening my eyes to Your truth. I confess that without You, I am spiritually blind and cannot see the path You have for me. Forgive me for the times I have tried to navigate life without You. Lord, remove every form of spiritual blindness from my life. Help me recognize Your voice, Your will, and the traps of the enemy. Be the light that guides every step I take. Give me wisdom to make decisions that honor You and help me walk in truth every day. Thank You for bringing me out of darkness and into Your marvelous light.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🕊️
