🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ On One Accord and Obeying God’s Word; Miracles Happened!

Scripture: Acts 8:5-8 (KJV)

“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.”

Devotion: Have you ever been a part of a team where everyone had the same goal, the same effort, and the same passion?

A good team like that accomplishes GREAT THINGS!

Now think about a team where everyone has a different opinion, nobody is on one accord, there is constant confusion, and no progress is being made.

Whew!

Take a quick minute to think about this:

How are you contributing to the teams and groups that you are a part of?

Are you helping create unity or confusion?

Now let’s look at our text for today.

Here is Philip preaching Christ and salvation to the people of Samaria.

Okay, let’s pause right there.

When the Gospel is being preached to you, what is your response?

Do you listen to obey?

Do you hear it but never take it to heart?

Do you listen and immediately assume the message is for somebody else?

Whew!

Let me help somebody this morning.

The Word of God is ALWAYS for you first.

Before you think about your spouse, your children, your coworkers, your pastor, or that person who gets on your nerves…

Think about YOU.

Lord, what are You saying to me?

What do I need to change?

What do I need to obey?

The scripture tells us that after Philip preached, the people were on one accord.

They paid attention to what he was saying.

They gave heed to it.

They took it seriously.

And they obeyed the Word of the Lord.

Wow!

Lord, let us be like this crowd in Samaria.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you obeyed the Word of the Lord instead of just hearing it?

Because that is what these people did.

They responded to the Word Philip preached with faith!

Hallelujah!!

And what happened next?

Miracles were performed.

Whew!!

Unclean spirits came out.

People were delivered.

The lame were healed.

And the Bible says there was great joy in the city.

Do you see the pattern?

They heard.

They obeyed.

They believed.

And miracles followed.

Glory to God!!!

Somebody needs to write that down.

Hear the Word.

Obey the Word.

Believe the Word.

And watch God move.

My my my!!!

I feel like I’m having church!

Do you need a miracle right now?

Do you need healing?

Do you need deliverance?

Do you need restoration?

Do you need God to make a way?

Then do what the people of Samaria did.

Hear the Word.

Obey it.

And believe.

Make this your response to EVERYTHING, and watch miracles begin to happen in your life.

Before we leave today, make yourself a promise.

Stop merely hearing God’s Word.

Start doing what it says.

The people receiving miracles are not always the people who hear the most sermons.

They are often the people who obey what they hear.

God bless you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Word. Forgive me for the times I have heard it but failed to obey it. Lord, help me to receive Your Word with faith and humility. Give me ears to hear what You are saying to me and a willing heart to obey. Remove distractions, pride, and unbelief from my life. Help me walk in unity with other believers and be on one accord with Your will. Lord, I believe You are still performing miracles today. Let me hear, obey, and believe Your Word so that I can experience the fullness of what You have promised. Fill my life with Your joy, Your power, and Your presence.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏 🕊️
