🕊️ PRAY HERE DEVOTION 🕊️ I Know You’re Tired; But God Restores

Scripture: Psalm 23:3 (KJV)

“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”

Devotion: Have you ever felt like everything has been thrown at you but the kitchen sink? Like you can’t take one more thing or you will break? Feeling burnout or being overwhelmed is very human and normal. It is not a good feeling at all; and many great people in the Bible experienced it , including Jesus.

If you are always the strong one, and you’re not only carrying your own weight but also the burdens of others… or you may be in your toughest season of opposition and challenges where your faith is being tested. You may be experiencing a series of deaths, your health being attacked, children acting up, or bills covering you up. You’re trying to stay positive and hold on, but you feel like you are drowning.

David was surrounded by threats, and he felt weak. He was also overwhelmed and burned out. But David was wise enough to stay connected to the Source; to continue praising God and trusting Him. This is why the book of Psalm is filled with praise, prayers, and David’s lamenting. He looked to God to guide him, strengthen him, and bring him out of the despair he was in.

David was restored through sincere confession of his shortcomings (sin) and his acknowledgment that he needed God. He knew he could not make it alone. As much as he was going through, he kept turning to God.

Understand that what you are facing right now is nothing to God. He is your Shepherd and will not let you want, be alone, be lost, or be destroyed by anything. He will “lead you into the paths of righteousness for his name sake.” Read the entire chapter of Psalm 23 with a new set of eyes and understanding, and let it be a comforting reminder that God will bring you out. Apply it to you and where you are right now.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.

Prayer: Father, I come to You feeling tired, overwhelmed, and stretched thin. Restore my soul. Remind me that You are my Shepherd and that I lack nothing in You. Strengthen me where I am weak, lift the burdens that are weighing me down, and lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Help me trust You completely through this season.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
