🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ He Is Pouring Out His Spirit. Do You Want It?

Scripture: Acts 2:17 KJV

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”

Devotion :

Oh, how privileged we are to have access to the Holy Spirit, and how unwise it is for us to reject Him.

Wisdom is much needed when deciding what is necessary for our lives and what is not.

Think about it this way.

Imagine someone trying to survive in dangerous territory with access to a guide who knows every road, every danger, every trap, and exactly where they need to go. The guide is available to lead them, warn them, protect them, and help them—but they keep saying:

“No, I’m good. I can figure it out myself.”

🤦🏽‍♀️

Then they keep getting lost, walking into danger, making wrong turns, and wondering why everything is so difficult.

You would probably say,

“Why won’t you use the help that’s available to you?!”

Whewww! 😮‍💨

Well…

Look at this world.

Evil.

Destruction.

War.

Sickness.

Deception.

Temptation.

Confusion.

False teaching.

People calling wrong right and right wrong.

Spiritual warfare everywhere.

And some of us are still trying to navigate all of this without the Holy Ghost!

My, my, my!

Whether we accept Him or not does not change the fact that:

WE NEED THE HOLY GHOST! 🔥🙏🏽🤌🏽

We need His guidance.

We need His power.

We need His conviction.

We need His discernment.

We need His comfort.

We need His wisdom.

We need His help!

And today’s Scripture reveals just how blessed we are to have access to Him.

Peter is making the people aware of a magnificent SHIFT.

Now people love to use the word shift these days. 😂 Everything is a shift.

But Peter is talking about a REAL SHIFT!

I’m going to try to stay composed while I share this blessing of a Word! 🙌🏽

In the Old Testament, we see the Spirit of God empowering particular people for particular purposes.

The Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson, giving him supernatural strength.

God’s Spirit empowered Bezalel with extraordinary skill and wisdom for the work of the tabernacle.

The Spirit came upon David when Samuel anointed him.

The Spirit of God moved upon prophets and leaders to accomplish God’s purposes.

But now something magnificent was happening.

Peter stood up on the Day of Pentecost and explained what everybody was witnessing by quoting the prophet Joel.

He said:

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon ALL FLESH…”

WHEWWWWWW!!!! 🔥🔥🔥

There is the shift!

ALL FLESH.

Your sons.

Your daughters.

Young people.

Old people.

Men.

Women.

God was pouring out His Spirit!

What a privilege!

WE HAVE ACCESS!

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Thank You, Lord!

Your powerful and precious Spirit, which people had witnessed resting upon particular individuals for God’s purposes, was now being poured out in this new-covenant fulfillment in a way that crossed age, gender, and social boundaries.

That’s a good place to pause and PRAISE GOD for the blessing of access!

HALLELUJAH! 🙌🏽🔥

And look at what happens when God pours out His Spirit:

“Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…”

“Your young men shall see visions…”

“Your old men shall dream dreams…”

God pours out His Spirit and ordinary people become empowered to participate in extraordinary Kingdom work.

Whewwww! 🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️

You begin doing things that require more than natural ability.

You may speak God’s truth with a boldness you didn’t have before.

You may have wisdom in a situation where naturally you wouldn’t know what to do.

The Holy Spirit can convict you before you walk into something that would have destroyed you.

He can give you discernment when something looks right but isn’t right.

He can strengthen you to resist something your flesh has struggled to resist.

He can empower you to minister, teach, preach, pray, serve, witness, encourage, and fulfill what God has called you to do.

And He can give you power to be a witness for Jesus!

That’s why we shouldn’t reduce the Holy Spirit to a feeling during church service.

Whewww!

Yes, you may FEEL His presence.

Yes, tears may fall.

Yes, you may shout.

Yes, you may run.

Yes, His presence can overwhelm you.

But the Holy Spirit is not merely given to make us feel something.

He empowers us to DO something!

🔥🔥🔥

To live differently.

To walk differently.

To discern differently.

To obey God.

To overcome sin.

To witness boldly.

To fulfill God’s purpose.

Think about how valuable access is.

Some doors won’t open without the right access.

You can walk into a secure building and know exactly where you want to go, but if you don’t have the proper credentials, that door isn’t opening.

You can have money in a bank account, but without access to the account, you cannot use what’s available.

You can have an incredible resource sitting right in front of you, but if you never access it…

you live as though it isn’t available.

Whewwww! 😮‍💨

And I wonder how many believers are living spiritually powerless while God is saying:

“I poured out My Spirit!”

You’re trying to fight spiritual battles with natural strength.

Trying to make every decision with human reasoning.

Trying to overcome temptation through willpower alone.

Trying to fulfill a supernatural calling using only natural ability.

And wondering why you’re exhausted!

WE NEED THE HOLY GHOST!

🔥🙌🏽

The Holy Spirit can help you be a better spouse because He produces love, patience, kindness, and self-control in you.

He can help you parent because you need wisdom beyond what a book can teach.

He can help you at work because discernment can keep you from responding emotionally to situations that require wisdom.

He can help you in ministry because there are things you simply cannot accomplish through talent alone.

And He can help you personally because sometimes the greatest battle you’re fighting isn’t around you.

It’s IN you.

Your flesh.

Your attitude.

Your thoughts.

Your desires.

Your habits.

Your reactions.

You need power!

And here is what makes today’s message so beautiful:

God desires to pour out His Spirit.

The question becomes:

DO YOU WANT HIM?

Not just:

Do you want His blessings?

Do you want the house?

Do you want the promotion?

Do you want healing?

Do you want God to fix your problems?

No.

DO YOU WANT HIS SPIRIT?

Do you want God enough to say:

“Fill me.”

“Change me.”

“Lead me.”

“Correct me.”

“Convict me.”

“Use me.”

“Empower me.”

“Whatever You need to remove from me, remove it.”

“Whatever You need to develop in me, develop it.”

“I WANT MORE OF YOU!”

WHEWWWW! 🙌🏽🔥🔥🔥

Because we should not only desire God’s hand.

We should desire His presence.

And don’t disqualify yourself.

Don’t think,

“That’s for preachers.”

No.

“That’s for pastors.”

No.

“That’s for those really spiritual people.”

Read it again:

“I will pour out of my Spirit upon ALL FLESH.”

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Sons AND daughters.

Young AND old.

God is not looking at whether you’re impressive enough.

He wants surrendered people.

So if you’re reading this today and you know you’ve been trying to live this Christian life in your own strength…

Stop.

You have access to divine help.

Ask God for His Spirit.

Seek Him.

Make room for Him.

Develop an appetite for the things of God.

Spend time in His Word.

Pray.

Worship.

Obey Him when He speaks.

And don’t reject the very Helper God has provided for you.

Because with everything happening in this world…

WE NEED THE HOLY GHOST!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Reflect & Respond

Ask yourself honestly:

Do I genuinely desire the Holy Spirit; or do I mostly desire what I want God to give me?

Am I trying to accomplish spiritual things through natural strength?

Am I willing for the Holy Spirit to not only empower me…

but also correct and change me?

Today, make this personal.

Don’t just admire what happened at Pentecost.

Desire God for yourself.

Open your heart and tell Him:

“Lord, I want Your Spirit. Fill me, lead me, change me, and use me.”

He is pouring out His Spirit. Do you want it? 🔥🙌🏽

Prayer :

Father God, thank You for giving me access to Your precious Holy Spirit.

I recognize today that I need You. I cannot successfully navigate this world, overcome my flesh, fulfill my purpose, or fight spiritual battles in my own strength.

Lord, I want Your Spirit.

Create in me a deeper desire for You and for the things of God.

Remove anything in me that resists Your presence, Your correction, or Your direction.

Holy Spirit, fill me.

Lead me.

Teach me.

Convict me.

Give me discernment.

Give me wisdom.

Give me power to resist sin and courage to obey God.

Empower me to accomplish whatever You have purposed for my life.

I don’t only want Your blessings, Lord.

I WANT YOU.

Let Your Spirit transform the way I think, speak, respond, serve, love, and live.

Thank You for the privilege of access.

I receive Your help, and I surrender myself to Your will.

Pour out Your Spirit, Lord! I want everything You desire for me to have.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏽🔥💙
