🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ God Will Meet You Where You Are.

Scripture: Acts 9:1-5 (ERV)

“Saul was still trying to scare the followers of the Lord and kill them. So he went to the high priest and asked him to write letters to the synagogues in the city of Damascus. He wanted the authority to arrest any followers of the Way he found there, men or women, and bring them back to Jerusalem. So Saul went to Damascus. As he came near the city, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul! Why are you persecuting me?’ Saul said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ The voice answered, ‘I am Jesus. I am the one you are persecuting.’”

Devotion: Have you ever heard someone say,

“I’m going to get saved when I get myself right.”

Maybe you’ve even said,

“I’ll come to church when I get myself together.”

Well, if you could get yourself right, you would already be saved and have no need for God.

Whew!

That statement is one of the enemy’s greatest lies.

He tricks people into believing they have to clean themselves up before coming to Jesus.

So they stay stuck…

Waiting.

Putting it off.

Never making a move toward God.

Then there are those who believe they have done so many bad things that God could never forgive them.

That is another lie from the enemy.

He wants people to believe they are too far gone to be saved.

BUT GOD…

Go ahead…

Whisper to yourself,

“But God.”

Glory!!!

God will meet you wherever you are.

Let’s look at Saul.

He was many things.

He is most remembered for being a devout Jewish leader who persecuted Christians, threw them into prison, and approved of Stephen’s death.

There is a much deeper reason Saul was this way, and we’ll discuss that in another devotion or Bible study.

But for today, notice this:

God did not wait for Saul to “get himself right.”

BUT GOD met him while he was still a murderer.

Ohhhh!

I feel like having church!

👏🏽👏🏼👏

Let that sink in for a moment.

Saul was not on his way to a revival.

He was not headed to a prayer meeting.

He was not looking for Jesus.

He was on his way to arrest more Christians.

Yet Jesus interrupted his journey.

Glory to God!

Not only did God meet Saul where he was…

He told Saul the truth about himself.

“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

God has a way of meeting us right where we are and lovingly telling us about ourselves.

He exposes what needs to change; not to condemn us, but to save us.

God, we thank You!

Has the Lord ever spoken to you through His Word?

Has He ever used a pastor, a minister, or even a complete stranger to say something that described your life perfectly?

Have you ever heard a sermon and thought,

“They’ve been reading my mail!”

Whew!

That is a Saul experience.

It is God meeting you where you are.

I am eternally grateful that God loves us so much that He does not leave us where we are.

And He does not wait for us to get enough sense to come to Him.

He comes looking for us.

Today, ask yourself:

Have I been ignoring God?

Has He been trying to get my attention?

Has He sent people into my life to invite me to Him?

Has He been speaking to me through His Word?

Your salvation is too important to keep putting off.

Move it to the top of your priority list.

Jesus is still meeting people where they are.

The only question is…

Will you respond when He meets you there?

We will continue our study tomorrow.

God bless you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for loving me enough to meet me where I am. Thank You for not waiting until I had everything together before reaching for me. Forgive me for the times I have ignored Your voice or delayed responding to You. Open my heart to receive Your truth, even when it corrects me. Lord, thank You for pursuing me with Your love and mercy. Help me stop making excuses and fully surrender my life to You. Change me, guide me, and make me into the person You have called me to be. I gladly receive Your love, Your correction, and Your salvation.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🕊️
