🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ “God Chose You”

Scripture: Ephesians 1:4 (ESV)

“Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.”

John 15:16 (ESV)

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”

Devotion: When it comes to a relationship with God, there is no question that He loves you, wants a relationship with you, and that He chose you. With that being said, the ball is definitely in your court to have a relationship with Him or to get to know Him. You can be as close or as distant as you choose to be.

The truth is, you will always benefit from choosing Him; just as He has chosen you.

All throughout the Holy Scriptures, God makes it clear how deeply He loves us. You may not feel it, see it, or fully understand it, but yes; you are CHOSEN. He chose you before the foundation of the world. Why did He choose you? Ephesians tells us: we were chosen to be holy and blameless before Him.

“Holy” for us simply means to walk in goodness and righteousness. We often make holiness sound harder than it is. By nature, knowledge, and experience, we know RIGHT from WRONG. Being intentional about doing the right thing daily is good and holy. And if you do this consistently, you will truly be blameless. The choices that we make on a daily basis are OURS; even the bad ones. We decide our response and actions to everything. We can choose to do good! We can choose to love God back.

John 15:16 teaches us that we are also chosen to bear fruit. When we live right and do good, it will show. The evidence of our good works produces fruit such as:

• a good name and reputation

• open doors

• favor

• positive influence on others

• blessings from God

Starting today, be intentional about choosing God back. Deepen your relationship with Him. Let Him help you do good daily. Your life will be blessed because of it.

Prayer: Father, thank You for choosing me before the foundation of the world. Help me to choose You daily with my actions, my thoughts, and my decisions. Teach me to walk in holiness, goodness, and righteousness. Produce fruit in my life that brings You glory. Draw me closer to You and strengthen my relationship with You.
