🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Even Though They Doubted Jesus; The Gift Was Offered to Them Too

Scripture: Acts 2:37–38

“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Devotion: Truth hurts sometimes.

Have you ever been so confident that you were right… and then found out you were completely wrong?

Whew!

That feeling will put “egg on your face” real quick.

It is humbling.

It is uncomfortable.

And sometimes it cuts deep.

That is exactly what happened in today’s scripture.

Peter had just boldly preached to the people about Jesus, the same Jesus many of them doubted, rejected, and even agreed should be crucified.

Now imagine hearing that the very One you rejected was actually the Savior.

The Bible says they were “pricked in their heart.”

That means the truth pierced them deeply.

They realized:

“We were wrong.”

And honestly, some people today still struggle with admitting when they are wrong concerning God.

Pride fights repentance.

Ego fights correction.

Tradition fights truth.

But here is the beautiful part about God:

Even though they doubted Jesus… the gift was still offered to them too.

Whewww!!

That right there shows the love, mercy, and fairness of God.

Because if it were some people, they would have said:

“Nope. You rejected me before, so now you are disqualified.”

But not God.

Instead of rejecting them, Peter told them exactly what to do:

“Repent, and be baptized… and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Do you see how loving God is?

The same people who doubted Him were still invited to receive His Spirit.

That is grace.

That is mercy.

And honestly, many of us should be thankful because we did not always believe either.

Some of us ignored God.

Some of us questioned Him.

Some of us lived opposite of His Word.

Yet He still called us.

Still forgave us.

Still offered us salvation and the Holy Ghost.

Glory to God!

The Holy Ghost was not just sent for a select few.

He was sent for all who would repent, believe, and receive.

So if you have ever felt too far gone, too wrong, too doubtful, or too late…

You are not disqualified.

The gift is still being offered to you too.

All God wants is a willing heart that says:

“Lord, I was wrong… and I want You.”

God bless you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your mercy, grace, and unconditional love. Thank You for not rejecting me even in the times I doubted, ignored, or misunderstood You. Lord, forgive me for every wrong thought, attitude, and action against You. I repent today and ask You to cleanse my heart and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for still offering me the gift of salvation and Your presence. Help me to stay humble, teachable, and willing to receive Your truth. I want to know You more and walk closely with You every day.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
