🕊️PRAY HERE Devotion🕊️ “Eat God’s Word”

Scripture: “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty.” — Jeremiah 15:16 (NIV)

Devotion:

How often do we hear or see God’s Word, but fail to digest it? We render His Word powerless and ineffective when we don’t take it in, meditate on it, and let it nourish our souls. If you don’t eat the Word that says, “the joy of the Lord is your strength,” you will continue to grow weak and live without joy.

The same is true if you don’t eat the Word that says, “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” Without digesting that truth, you may continue to live afraid, weak, and confused.

Jeremiah said, “When Your words came, I ate them.” That line alone is such a powerful example for us today. Jeremiah did not ignore the Word when it came to him. He didn’t say, “Oh, this must be for someone else.” No! He received it and ate it! As a result, he said the Word became a joy and delight to his heart. It strengthened him, comforted him, and reminded him that he was called by God’s name.

This devotion is a gentle reminder and encouragement: Stop ignoring or dodging opportunities to eat God’s Word. Read it. Meditate on it. Let it fill you up until it becomes life and joy to your heart. The Word of God is spiritual food, and when you consume it daily, it will nourish your spirit and renew your strength.

Don’t starve yourself spiritually. Feed on His Word and watch your faith, peace, and joy grow.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. Help me not to just hear it but to eat it, meditate on it, and let it fill every part of my heart. Make Your Word my joy and delight. Strengthen me through every verse I read, and help me to live by what I have consumed.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
