🕊️ PRAY HERE DEVOTION 🕊️ Daily Renewal – Part 1

Scripture: Lamentations 3:22–23 (ESV)

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

Devotion: There is just something about the feeling of something that is new. Think about getting a new car: how it feels, looks, smells, and functions. Even if you’ve never had a brand-new car, you can imagine that it would be a great experience. Now imagine if every single day you got into your car, it felt brand new again.

Here’s another example: when you first started dating your significant other or spouse. Think about how you both presented your best selves. You put in effort to make them happy: flirting, saying kind things, giving compliments, going on nice dates, not wanting to disappoint them, creating moments you didn’t want to end. Just the thought of that person made you smile. Imagine feeling that same excitement and love renewed daily for years and years.

Fresh food versus food that has been sitting or has gone cold; new and fresh is just better in many cases. When it comes to our minds, spirits, strength, and commitment, we need daily renewal.

I don’t believe any of us can make it through today on yesterday’s strength. That’s why we desire to wake up refreshed. Sometimes what we experienced yesterday took everything out of us, and we need to be renewed, replenished, refreshed, and recharged. If yesterday’s thoughts were depressing, angering, or made you less motivated to do good, then you need a fresh set of positive thoughts for today.

No matter what yesterday did to us physically, spiritually, or emotionally, God’s love is so steadfast and His mercy so everlasting that He is willing and able to give us a fresh start every single day.

By His power and our faith, we can experience newness daily. Look at today’s scripture; it tells us that His love and mercy are new every morning. That means whatever happened yesterday does not have to affect your today. Praise God!! He is not out of mercy. You can start your day without the weight and guilt of yesterday’s mistakes. You can feel new and start fresh every day.

Do not carry anything from yesterday into today. Let the Word of God encourage you, and let the power of His love change you and make you new. Be refreshed in joy, peace, strength, hope, and whatever else you may be lacking.

God loves you that much!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your steadfast love and mercies that never end. I receive today’s renewal: spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Help me to release yesterday and walk fully in the newness You provide. Refresh my strength, restore my joy, and renew my hope. I trust You for a fresh start today.
