šŸ•ŠļøPRAY HERE DevotionšŸ•Šļøā€Øā€œChildren of God Keep the Peaceā€

Scripture: Matthew 5:9 (NIV)

ā€œBlessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.ā€

Devotion: Peaceful people are truly pleasant to be around. They aren’t the ones starting fights, stirring up arguments, or causing unnecessary chaos. Even if they aren’t outgoing or overly social, they carry a kindness and a calming spirit that makes others feel safe and comfortable.

Jesus Himself came into this world with a mission, and one of those purposes was to bring peace. Isaiah 9:6 calls Him the Prince of Peace. If He is peace, and we are His children, then we should reflect His nature. A child of God should not be full of drama, confusion, or conflict. Instead, we should be the ones who bring calm, wisdom, and order into difficult situations.

Many years ago, when I first learned this scripture as a teenager, my pastor used an example that stuck with me:

If there is an uproar happening, when you walk into the room, the atmosphere should settle; not get worse.

Think about that for a moment… How would people describe your presence?

Do you calm situations down?

Or are you the one who brings the gasoline to a fire that was already burning?

If you’re the second example, no one will ever mistake you for a ā€œchild of God.ā€ The children of God carry the Spirit of God; and God is a God of peace.

Let’s look again at today’s scripture:

ā€œBlessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.ā€

They are called God’s children because peace is His nature.Peace originates from Him. And the more time we spend in His Word, in prayer, and in His presence, the more we begin to inherit that peaceful spirit.

People will notice the difference.

ā€œThey used to be quick to fightā€¦ā€

ā€œThey used to snap back at everythingā€¦ā€

ā€œThey used to stay in messā€¦ā€

ā€œBut now they’re calm, kind, and steady. That has to be God!ā€

You can determine whose child you are acting like simply by the level of peace you bring into the world. Children of God carry peace. Children of God protect peace. Children of God make peace wherever they go.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being the God of peace. Help me to reflect Your nature in everything I do. Remove anything in me that brings chaos, confusion, or unnecessary conflict. Fill me with a calm spirit, a gentle heart, and a desire to bring peace into every situation. Let my life be evidence that I am truly Your child. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
