🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ “And People Still Reject Jesus”

Scripture: Matthew 27:21–22

“The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.”

Devotion: It’s crazy to think that anyone would choose death over life… bondage over freedom… evil over good.

It just does not sound right at all.

But sadly, people do it every day.

In today’s scripture, the people had a choice between Jesus, the Savior of the world, or Barabbas, a known murderer.

And what did they say?

“We want Barabbas.”

Imagine that.

Choosing a murderer over the Messiah.

Choosing destruction over deliverance.

Choosing chains over freedom.

I have heard people say how crazy it was for them to choose Barabbas over Jesus. Some are even confused by it.

But the truth is; they were being influenced by the enemies of Jesus, and they took the bait.

Now let’s bring it to today.

Did you know many people are still taking the enemy’s bait and not choosing Jesus?

Yes, and I’ll tell you how.

Anything about Jesus or God, we keep scrolling past or ignore.

We choose money over prayer.

Sexual pleasure over purity.

Pride over repentance.

Fame over faithfulness.

Clubbing over worship.

Temporary happiness over eternal peace.

People’s approval over God’s approval.

We say we want peace, but reject the Prince of Peace.

We say we want healing, but reject the Healer.

We say we want purpose, but reject the One who created us.

That sounds like Barabbas all over again.

We are being influenced every day by people, platforms, and spirits that are not of God.

And if we are not careful, we will choose what feels good over what is God.

The enemy is still presenting options.

He is still offering counterfeit versions of peace, love, and freedom.

But only Jesus saves.

Only Jesus delivers.

Only Jesus gives eternal life.

This is not just about church attendance or religion.

This is life or death.

Choose today who you will serve.

Because not choosing Jesus… is still a choice.

And one day, every person will have to answer the question:

“What did you do with Jesus?”

My prayer is that your answer will be:

“I chose Him.”

Prayer: Father God, forgive me for the times I have rejected You, ignored You, and chosen things of this world over You. Forgive me for taking the enemy’s bait and allowing distractions, sin, and temporary pleasures to pull me away from Jesus. Lord, I repent today and make the decision to choose You. I choose life, truth, freedom, and salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me to turn away from anything that competes with You in my heart. Strengthen us to stand firm and serve You fully. I do not want Barabbas; Jesus, I want You!
