🕊️PRAY HERE Devotion🕊️ A World Without Wisdom

Scripture: “They will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.” — Proverbs 1:31 (NIV)

Devotion: I think it’s safe to say that when thinking about wisdom, we would all agree that it is imperative ; yet many people still do not use it. When you act based on your emotions, feelings, or only what you think you know, your actions can easily lead you into unnecessary situations.

Using wisdom will ,not might, but will prevent bad situations. It is sad to say that many of us neglect wisdom when making decisions.

The proof of this neglect is in the truth of today’s scripture. Just look at the world around you: violence, wars, chaos, and evil happening daily. All of these things are the fruit (evidence) of people’s unwise choices and rejection of godly wisdom.

So where do we get wisdom? God places wisdom all around us and offers it to us daily through His Word, prayer, and godly counsel. But we often choose to fill our minds with everything else:

entertainment, gossip, worry ; and then wonder why our outcomes are not good.

When we don’t accept wisdom and choose our own foolish ways, we end up producing bad fruit in our lives. What could that look like?

  • Someone who makes plenty of money, but is always broke because of unwise spending.

  • Someone who gives in to lust or greed and destroys a good marriage.

  • Someone who gives in to anger and commits a crime instead of cooling off and thinking about the consequences.

This scripture reminds us that a lot of what we go through is nobody’s fault but ours ; the result of neglecting to use wisdom. God’s Word makes it clear that we will eat the fruit of our actions.

So, if you want to eat the good of the land, let your actions be good and wise.Wisdom is available to all who seek it. Ask God for it, receive it, and apply it daily.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being the source of all wisdom. Forgive me for the times I acted without consulting You or ignored Your guidance. Help me to seek wisdom daily and make choices that reflect Your truth and righteousness. Let my life bear the fruit of obedience, peace, and understanding.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
