A Mother’s Love and God’s Grace

Scripture: Proverbs 31:28

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

Devotion: Mother’s Day is a beautiful reminder to stop and honor the women who have poured so much of themselves into others.

A mother’s love is one of the closest earthly examples of sacrifice, covering, patience, and grace.

Mothers carry more than people often realize.

They pray when nobody sees.

They worry in silence.

They sacrifice sleep, time, peace, and sometimes even their own dreams to make sure the people they love are okay.

Some mothers are biological mothers.

Some are spiritual mothers.

Some are grandmothers, aunties, mentors, and women who stepped in and loved like a mother when they did not have to.

Today, we honor all of them.

Motherhood is not always glamorous.

Sometimes it looks like tears behind closed doors.

Sometimes it looks like praying for children who are making hard choices.

Sometimes it looks like loving people who do not always say thank you.

And sometimes, it looks like carrying strength you did not even know you had.

To every mother reading this:

God sees you.

He sees every sacrifice.

He sees every prayer.

He sees every time you held it together for everyone else while silently asking Him to help you.

Nothing is wasted.

Even when you feel unnoticed… God notices.

Even when you feel unappreciated… Heaven records it.

Even when you question if you did enough… God honors your love.

And for those whose Mother’s Day is difficult—because of grief, loss, strained relationships, or longing—God sees that too.

His comfort reaches there as well.

Today is not just about flowers and cards.

It is about gratitude.

Take time today to honor the women who helped shape your life.

And if you are that woman—receive the honor.

You are appreciated.

You are needed.

You are loved.

God bless every mother today.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for the gift of mothers and for the women You have placed in our lives to love, guide, teach, and cover us. Thank You for every sacrifice they have made and every prayer they have prayed. Lord, strengthen every mother today. Encourage the weary, comfort the grieving, and restore the ones who feel unseen or unappreciated. Let them know that You see every act of love and every seed they have sown. Bless them with peace, joy, health, and strength. And help me to honor and appreciate the mothers in my life with love and gratitude.
