Imperfect People Loving a Perfect God ❤️
Written By Maranda Kelley
When you truly get to know our God, it is impossible not to fall in love with Him! He is simply AMAZING! His mercy endures forever, He is patient with us, He does not lie, He keeps His promises, and He LOVES ALL OF YOU! I could go on because the list is honestly endless. I mean, “Who wouldn’t love a God like this?”
Our love for Him could never exceed His love for us. We are imperfect people who often disappoint Him, yet His love never changes. We are not worthy, yet we are loved by Him. When you truly live in this truth, you will desire to love Him back.
How can we demonstrate our love for Jesus?
John 21:15
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
Jesus asked Peter to show his love for Him by feeding His people the Word of God. He wanted that love to be demonstrated through action. We can show our love for Him by sharing His Word with others to bless their lives and by obeying it in our own lives.
Another important lesson we can learn from Jesus’ relationship with Peter, which also applies to us, is this: Jesus looked past Peter’s imperfections and saw his love. In the same way, our love for Jesus will overshadow our flaws.
Remember these two truths:
“Love will cover a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8).
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37).
God bless you!
