Prayer Improves Your Personality!
Written By Maranda Kelley
Old sayings like “You are the company you keep” and “Birds of a feather flock together” come to mind when I think about how the people you surround yourself with can influence your life. These sayings hold a lot of truth. I’ve witnessed it both ways: a good person turning bad because of their friends and a bad person becoming good for the same reason. If this is true for human relationships, then surely talking to God daily and spending time with Him would transform us for the better.
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (NKJV)
The Bible highlights several people who became better through prayer and their relationship with God. God embodies all the characteristics we need to develop and be our best self. His Word is full of wisdom and guidance, and His presence alone transforms us. There’s no way you can spend time with the Lord daily and not grow into a better person. As it says in 1 Corinthians 15:33, “Bad company corrupts good manners,” so it stands to reason that good company improves bad manners!
It’s encouraging to know that anyone can become a better person by fellowshipping with God. Prayer is simply communication with Him. Start talking to Him daily and reading His Word, and watch the transformation unfold. I’m excited about the better version of you that is already manifesting. Keep seeking the Lord—you’re doing great!
I challenge you today to share this word with someone. It is sure to inspire them.

Question: how has talking to God and reading His Word changed you?
It has given me confidence & assurance & boldness. The more I read my Word, the more boldly I come before the throne in prayer. Thru reading & prayer, I've realized that we don't have to ASK for as much as we do. Much of it already belongs to us, we simply have to declare and call down what is rightfully ours! 🥰 and also thru both, it has allowed God to clean me up in ways unimaginable. It has caused me to see unrighteousness in me that I would have never seen otherwise. Thank God for His Word & prayer!
