40 Days of Prayer! Day 27

I Ain’t too Proud to Pray!

Pride can stop us from learning, growing, and even praying in a meaningful way because it makes us think we’ve already got it all figured out. When we’re caught up in being right or feeling like we don’t need advice, it’s hard to listen to anyone—even God. Pride closes our minds and keeps us stuck, making it impossible to grow into the people we’re meant to be. When we pray with pride in our hearts, we might talk to God, but we aren’t really open to hearing His guidance or changing our ways. Letting go of pride and being humble enough to admit we don’t have all the answers helps us grow, connect, and truly experience the power of prayer.

James 4:6:

"God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble."

Think about it: when we’re proud, we rely on ourselves, shutting God out and missing His guidance, blessings, and opportunities for growth. But when we humble ourselves, we admit that we need Him—that we don’t have it all together and can’t do it alone. That’s when God steps in with His favor, lifting us up and helping us in ways we could never imagine. This verse is a call to examine our hearts and choose humility, knowing that God’s grace flows freely to those who come to Him with an open and humble spirit. Say it with me, “I am not too proud to pray.” We all need His guidance in our daily lives.

God bless you!
