🕊️ PRAY HERE Devotion 🕊️ Covering All Ground and by Faith Performed More Miracles

Scripture: Acts 9:32-35 (KJV)

“And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.”

Devotion: When it comes to God and faith, people are hard to convince these days.

Sometimes people can watch God move right before their eyes and still refuse to surrender their lives to Him.

Whew!

The people in Bible days seemed to have a much quicker response.

They witnessed miracles…

They saw lives changed…

And many immediately turned to the Lord.

Now think about today.

How many people have prayed,

“Lord, if You give me this job, I’ll serve You.”

God opens the door in a way that could only be Him…

…and they still never surrender.

Or someone watches God heal a family member that doctors said could not recover.

Everyone stands amazed…

But instead of following Christ, they simply call it “good luck” and move on with life.

Whew!

Miracles are meant to point us to Jesus.

Let’s look at today’s scripture.

The Bible says Peter “passed throughout all quarters.”

I love that.

Peter was covering ground.

He was not sitting in one place waiting for ministry to come to him.

He was going where the people were.

While traveling, he came to Lydda and found a man named Aeneas.

This man had been bedridden for eight years because of palsy.

Can you imagine that?

Eight years.

I’m sure he had seen every doctor available.

I’m sure people had prayed.

I’m sure others had probably given up hope.

Yet he was still lying on that bed.

This reminds us of something very important.

No matter how advanced mankind becomes…

We are still limited without the power of God.

There are some things only Jesus can do.

Glory to God!

It also reminds us that God knows exactly where we are.

Notice…

Aeneas did not go looking for Peter.

God sent Peter to him.

Whew!

We keep seeing this throughout the Book of Acts.

God always sends help.

He sent Philip to the Ethiopian eunuch.

He sent Ananias to Saul.

Now He sends Peter to Aeneas.

If you are waiting on an answer today, be encouraged.

God knows where you are.

And He knows how to send exactly what you need.

Now notice Peter’s response.

He did not hesitate.

He did not question whether God could do it.

He did not say,

“Let’s see what happens.”

No!

Peter spoke with authority.

“Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed.”

Whew!!

There was no trace of doubt in Peter’s words.

Why?

Because Peter was full of the Holy Ghost and full of faith.

He wasn’t new to this…

He was true to this!

Peter knew Jesus was real because he had experienced His power for himself.

He had watched Jesus perform miracles.

He had received the Holy Ghost.

He had seen prayers answered.

His faith had been built over time.

And immediately…

Aeneas got up.

Eight years on a bed…

And in one moment, Jesus changed everything.

Glory!!

Now let me ask you something.

How many times has doubt hindered your prayers?

Be honest.

You prayed…

Nothing happened.

You spoke God’s Word…

Nothing seemed to change.

Could it be that something was missing?

Faith.

And the authority God has already given you.

Peter did not speak like someone hoping.

He spoke like someone believing.

Take a moment right now.

Speak over your situation.

Speak over your home.

Speak over your health.

Speak over your children.

Speak over your finances.

Not with fear…

But with faith.

Not in your own power…

But in the authority of Jesus Christ.

Hallelujah!!

And don’t miss the last verse.

When the people saw what Jesus had done through Peter…

They turned to the Lord.

That is the purpose of miracles.

Not to make us famous…

Not to draw attention to us…

But to point people to Jesus Christ.

May our faith become so strong that God can trust us to be vessels through whom others see His power and turn to Him.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for reminding me that nothing is impossible for You. Increase my faith and help me trust You without doubting. Fill me with the Holy Ghost and teach me to walk in the authority You have given me through Jesus Christ. Help me speak Your Word with confidence and believe that You are still healing, delivering, and working miracles today. Remove every trace of fear and unbelief from my heart. Lord, use my life to point others to You. Let my faith produce fruit, and let every miracle You perform through my life bring glory to Your name. I believe You are able, and I trust You completely.
