Are derivatives easier when you understand slope?
The idea of slope becomes much more interesting when students see how it connects to derivatives. I once understood a derivative better after comparing two points on a curve and watching what happened as they moved closer. Understanding slope made derivatives feel less abstract because it connected the symbols to how something changes. During my college days, I struggled academically, and that experience inspired me to help others who feel stuck.
