Scripture Reference: "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty."— Proverbs 14:23
Devotion: We’ve all known someone who is always talking about what they’re going to do; but they never actually do it. They’ve got plans, ideas, and big dreams, but those things never move past words. It’s just like that wayward child who always promises to do better, but never follows through. What they don’t realize is how much better their life would be if they actually did better!
The truth is, we don’t benefit from our words until we turn them into actions. Proverbs 14:23 reminds us that there is profit in hard work, but only poverty in empty talk. The profit may not always come as money. Sometimes the profit is better health, a stronger prayer life, a successful business or career, healthy relationships, or simply peace of mind.
Even just talking Bible verses won’t manifest the promises inside of it. Saying you believe God’s Word is good; but living it out and applying it is where transformation happens. You have to work and apply actions to your words.
So remember this: talk is cheap. If you’ve been saying for years that you’re going to eat better, pray more, forgive someone, start a ministry, or pursue your dream; it’s time to stop talking and start doing. God blesses action that aligns with His Word.

Amen
