Scripture: “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” — Luke 11:13
Devotion: I don’t know how good you are at giving gifts, but I am a witness to the truth of Luke 11:13—God gives good gifts to His children; and we are His children. One of the best and most important gifts He gives is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, our guide, and the source of power to overcome sin. Who doesn’t want to be comforted in times of uncertainty, strengthened when life feels too heavy, or guided to avoid unnecessary setbacks, detours, and dead ends? The Holy Spirit lovingly leads us into blessing by helping us obey our Heavenly Father.
But here’s the question: Do you want the gift?
It much easier to give a gift to someone who wants to receive it than it is to “try” and give a gift to someone who does NOT want it. Think about that…… “Have I rejected the gift of God by ignoring His leading? Am I not receptive to the Holy Spirit? Your life could be so much better with the gift of the Holy Spirit as your comforter. Without the Holy Spirit, you are missing out on wisdom, peace, and abundant life. With the Spirit, you gain comfort in sorrow, power in weakness, and divine guidance in decision-making. You may be smart, but the Holy Spirit will teach you all things. You may be wealthy, but the Holy Spirit gives life more abundantly. God will not force this gift on you, but if you want it; He will freely give it because He loves you. Receive the gift of God today!
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for being a good Father who gives good gifts. Today, I ask You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I don’t want to live on my own strength anymore. I want Your comfort, Your power, and Your guidance. Teach me to be receptive to Your Spirit and to obey when You lead me. I receive Your gift by faith today, and I trust You to fill me with everything I need to live in Your will.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen. Thank you Heavenly Father for the gift of the Holy Spirit.
