Scripture: âCommit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.â â Psalm 37:5
Devotion: We can commit to so many things. Think about it: some people commit to scrolling social media every day, others commit to smoking or drinking without ever missing a day, and still others faithfully commit to their hobbies or routines. Yet, when it comes to committing to God in prayer, Bible reading, and cultivating our relationship with Him; we often struggle to stay consistent. Why is that? The truth is, itâs a choice. What we commit ourselves to becomes our lifestyle. If people can be faithful to habits that are destructive, how much more should we be faithful to the One who gives life? Committing to God will always bring greater rewards than anything else we devote ourselves to: peace, strength, wisdom, blessings, and eternal life. Today, choose to be committed to Him.
Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the times Iâve struggled to stay committed to You while being consistent in lesser things. Help me to make the daily choice to put You first in my life. Strengthen me to stay faithful in prayer, in reading Your Word, and in seeking You above everything else. I choose today to be committed; fully and faithfully; to You. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
