Scripture: “Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.” — Jeremiah 33:6
Devotion: Sometimes life can weigh you down so heavily that the idea of a fresh start seems impossible. Sin, guilt, and shame can convince you that you’ll never be worthy of happiness again. It keeps you from expecting anything good, traps you in a negative mindset, and blinds you to the future God has for you. On top of that, people may judge you, constantly reminding you of your past.
Maybe you have made serious mistakes that set you back in life. As you try to move forward, you may feel the weight of your past following you. Others may not believe in you, just as many struggled to believe in Paul after his transformation. But God gave Paul new life, and He can do the same for you.
God promises healing, happiness, and restoration in Jeremiah 33:6. Sin may have left your heart, mind, or body broken, but God’s love can restore everything it stole. I’ve heard testimonies from people who thought they would never laugh again or live with peace; but one decision to turn back to God changed everything. That same new life is available to you today. Give Him a chance, and let Him restore your joy and your future.
Prayer: Lord, after all I’ve been through, I know You are able to give me new life. Heal me from the pain of my past and the damage sin has caused. Restore my mind, my joy, and my hope for the future. I choose today to walk away from what was and trust You for what’s ahead. Thank You for being the God of healing and restoration. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
