Scripture:"Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."â 1 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
Devotion:Weâve all encountered difficult people; those who test our patience, push our buttons, or speak harshly. Itâs tempting to respond in the same spirit, to defend ourselves or even strike back. But when we stoop to their level, we surrender our peace and step out of Godâs character.
God calls us to a higher standard; to reflect His love even in uncomfortable situations. Responding with grace doesnât make you weak; it proves that your strength comes from the Lord. You donât have to attend every argument or react to every insult. Some things are best left in Godâs hands.
Choosing peace over pettiness allows God to work on your behalf. When you rise above the drama, you protect your spirit, your witness, and your joy.
Prayer:Lord, help me to stay calm and focused when I encounter difficult people. Give me the strength to respond with love instead of offense. Guard my heart from bitterness and remind me that peace is more powerful than pride.
In Jesusâ name, amen.
